Towards a Jungian Wisdom School of the Heart:
Introduction to Jung with Bette Joram, Ph.D.
In this four-week class, we will cover basic concepts and terminology of Jung’s theory of analytical psychology. For those new or relatively new to Jung, this is your chance to get an overview of Jung’s broad and deep theory, which will help orient you to our lectures and other Jungian offerings.
- Week 1: We will examine and define terms found in Jung’s original model of the structure of the psyche: Persona, Ego, Shadow, Anima/Animus, Self, Complexes, Archetypes, and Individuation.
- Week 2: Dreams: Amplification of the subjects covered in Week 1. Film showing: Appointment with the Wise Old Dog.
- Week 3: Typology: Introvert/Extravert, Thinking Feeling, Intuition, Sensation.
- Week 4. Alchemy and Transformation.

Bette R. Joram, Ph. D., LMHC, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Seattle. She has presented classes, lectures, seminars, and workshops on Jungian subjects at Antioch University, Bastyr University, the C. G. Jung Society, Seattle, and by invitation since 1989. In addition to teaching Introduction to Jungian Psychology, she has given presentations on Dreams, Alchemy, the Uroboros, the Horse and Appointment with the Wise Old Dog. Dr. Joram received her Ph. D. from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Clinical Psychology in 2005. She is currently Co-President of the C. G. Jung Society, Seattle. |
